Our hearts were filled with gratitude and joy as our two Novices, Agnes and Kavita made their first commitment to God on May 1st, the day of the Solemnity of St. Joseph the worker at Providence Nilaya, Karmalaram.
The novices hails from Assam who were led to the altar by their novice mistress and accompanied by their parents with the motto of ~Consecrated to be Pilgrims of Hope` which expresses the desire to be, with God`s grace, Signs of hope and providence in this time of war and violence.
The solemn rite of religious profession was presided over by Rev. Fr. Subash, a retreat preacher from Sons of Providence. During the Eucharistic celebration the novice mistress presented the candidates for the 1st profession. Fr. Subash in his homily highlighted the importance of consecrated life lived joyfully and faithfully in the community and elsewhere following the footsteps of our founder, Mother Elena Bettini.
After receiving the religious habit , they professed the vows and then received a copy of the constitution of Daughters of Divine Providence in the presence of their parents, invited guests of religious men and women, friends and well-wishers.
The regional superior welcomed the newly professed to the Bettinian family and appreciated them for their generous `yes` to the Lord. The newly professed were felicitated with a short cultural program and cake cutting. The sisters expressed their gratitude and joy to God for having blessed us with two more sisters to the Bettinian family and congratulated them for taking a courageous step of consecrating themselves to God totally and prayed for God`s blessings upon them that they persevere in their vocation and a new life that they began today may be lived joyfully and faithfully as a Pilgrims of Hope.
