The joyful ceremony of the entry of our postulants, Puspita, Ruby, Sunita and Anjana into novitiate took place on 27th June at Elena Bettini Regional House on the solemnity of Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The postulants were accompanied by the regional superior, Sr. Shanty panamattathil and the postulant’s mistress, Sr. Lucy Puthenpurackal. The ceremony was presided by Rev. Fr. Prakash OP, the parish priest of Our Lady Of Divine Providence church, and assisted by Rev. Fr v. Raj. During the ceremony, the regional superior who called the postulants by name and they responded by expressing their willingness to follow Christ with the spirit of openness and trust in the Divine Providence like Elena Bettini , our founder.
After the liturgy of the word, the celebrant gave an inspiring homily on the `call of Samuel “Here I am Lord”. The postulants were then given the cross and the office prayer book by the regional superior as a sign of initiation to the religious life and belongingness to the institute. The regional superior then entrusted them to the novice mistress Sr. Jaisamma Kappil.
We entrusted them to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the special protection of our mother of Divine Providence that they may be faithful to their `yes` to the will of the Father.
It was the day of great joy for every member of the Bettinian family as our dear four postulants initiated into novitiate. We thanked God for this great gift to our congregation and to the church and all the sisters welcomed them to the Bettinian family by congratulating them. It was followed by cake cutting and high tea. The regional team and sisters from nearby communities and also the formees were present to witness this graceful occasion. Everybody enjoyed the day.
